Ingredients
- 1 cup quick-cooking grits
- 4 cups water or milk
- 2 tbsp butter

- 8 breakfast sausage links or patties
- 6 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk (for eggs)
- 1 tbsp butter (for eggs)
Instructions
- Bring water or milk to a boil in a saucepan. Add salt and slowly whisk in grits.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently until thick and creamy.
- Stir in butter and cheese (if using), then keep warm.
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs with milk, salt, and pepper.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat and add eggs.
- Cook gently, stirring frequently, until eggs are soft and fluffy.
- Plate grits, sausage, and scrambled eggs together.
- Serve hot.
