Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 8 pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard


Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 4 loose balls.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat.
  3. Place beef balls on the hot skillet and smash flat with a spatula.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy around the edges.
  6. Flip patties and top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
  8. Toast burger buns with butter until golden.
  9. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to make burger sauce.
  10. Assemble burgers with sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and cheesy patties.
