Description

Hot Honey Garlic Meatball Subs are flavorful toasted sandwiches loaded with juicy meatballs coated in a sweet and spicy garlic glaze, topped with melted cheese and served on soft sub rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Mix gently and form into meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides.
  5. Transfer meatballs to a baking dish and bake for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  7. Stir in honey, hot sauce, and marinara sauce.
  8. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and toss to coat.
  9. Place meatballs into sub rolls and top with mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake for 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  11. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
