Description

Restaurant-style garlic butter scallops with a golden crust and tender center, finished in a rich, flavorful butter sauce for an elegant yet simple dish.


Ingredients

  • 300g sea scallops, patted dry
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Pat scallops dry thoroughly and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat until very hot.
  3. Add scallops in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes without moving until a golden crust forms.
  4. Flip scallops and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add butter and garlic to the pan and spoon the melted butter over the scallops.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and cook for another 30 seconds.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure scallops are dry for a proper sear.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan.
  • Use high heat for a golden crust.
