Description
A decadent fusion dessert combining the rich flavor of red velvet cake with a sweet cinnamon swirl and cream cheese glaze, reminiscent of a cinnamon roll.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for swirl)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for swirl)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
- Drizzle the cinnamon mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over the warm cake.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

- Do not overmix the batter for a soft texture.
