Description

A decadent fusion dessert combining the rich flavor of red velvet cake with a sweet cinnamon swirl and cream cheese glaze, reminiscent of a cinnamon roll.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for swirl)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  6. Drizzle the cinnamon mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Drizzle glaze over the warm cake.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
