Description

Rich and fudgy chocolate brownies filled with a gooey caramel center, creating the perfect indulgent dessert with a soft, chewy texture and sweet caramel surprise.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel candies with the heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
  8. Pour the melted caramel evenly over the brownie layer.
  9. Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the caramel layer and gently spread to cover.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For cleaner cuts, refrigerate the brownies for about 30 minutes before slicing.
  • A sprinkle of sea salt on top enhances the caramel flavor.
  • Do not overbake to keep the brownies fudgy.
