Description

Crispy oven-fried feta rolls wrapped in flaky pastry and baked until golden, then drizzled with sweet and spicy chili honey for a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and heat. A crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz feta cheese, cut into sticks
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 12 tsp chili paste or hot sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Optional: sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut feta into even sticks and pat dry.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough, brush lightly with olive oil or butter, and place a feta stick near one edge.
  4. Sprinkle with oregano and pepper, then roll tightly, folding in the sides like a cigar.
  5. Repeat with remaining feta and phyllo sheets.
  6. Place rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush tops with more oil or butter.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, warm honey with chili flakes and chili paste until combined. Stir in lemon juice.
  9. Remove rolls from oven and drizzle with warm chili honey.
  10. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.
