Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Oil for frying
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat chicken wings dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Mix flour and cornstarch in a bowl, then coat the wings evenly.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry wings in batches for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the fried wings in the sauce until well coated.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve immediately.
