A savory and elegant dish featuring juicy chicken breast wrapped in a flavorful mushroom mixture and golden puff pastry, baked to perfection for a comforting yet impressive meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly browned. Remove and let cool.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté mushrooms and garlic until moisture evaporates.
  5. Stir in cream cheese and thyme, mixing until smooth. Let cool.
  6. Roll out puff pastry and cut into portions to wrap each chicken breast.
  7. Spread mushroom mixture over each chicken breast.
  8. Wrap tightly with puff pastry, sealing edges well.
  9. Place on a baking tray, brush with egg wash.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

  • Ensure mushroom mixture is dry to avoid soggy pastry.
  • You can add spinach or cheese for extra flavor.
  • Use halal chicken if required.
