Description

Cheesy Birria Pizza Rolls are crispy baked rolls stuffed with tender birria beef, melty cheese, pizza sauce, and bold Mexican-inspired flavors, served with consommé for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked shredded birria beef
  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or birria consommé
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Extra consommé for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread pizza sauce or a thin layer of birria consommé over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese evenly over the dough.
  5. Distribute shredded birria beef evenly across the surface.
  6. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the filling.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  8. Slice into 1-inch rolls and place onto the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve warm with consommé for dipping.

Notes

  • Use leftover birria beef for easy preparation.
  • Do not overfill the dough to prevent leaks.
  • Serve immediately for the crispiest texture.
  • Monterey Jack cheese also melts well in this recipe.
  • Air frying works great for smaller batches.
