Description

Juicy baked meatballs smothered in rich marinara sauce and topped with melted cheese for a comforting and satisfying dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or beef and chicken mix)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano until just combined.
  3. Form into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes until browned.
  5. Transfer meatballs to a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and additional Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake for another 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot with pasta, bread, or on its own.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat to keep meatballs tender.
  • Use store-bought or homemade marinara sauce.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
  • Serve with spaghetti or garlic bread.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
