Description
Juicy baked meatballs smothered in rich marinara sauce and topped with melted cheese for a comforting and satisfying dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or beef and chicken mix)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano until just combined.
- Form into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until browned.
- Transfer meatballs to a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and additional Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for another 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot with pasta, bread, or on its own.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat to keep meatballs tender.
- Use store-bought or homemade marinara sauce.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
- Serve with spaghetti or garlic bread.
- Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
