Description
Tender and juicy BBQ pulled pork sliders served on soft buns and topped with crunchy coleslaw. These mini sandwiches are packed with smoky barbecue flavor and are perfect for parties, game days, or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Season the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and brown sugar.
- Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour in the chicken broth.
- Cook on low for 7–8 hours or until the pork is very tender and easily shredded.
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the barbecue sauce. Let it warm for another 10 minutes.
- In a bowl mix coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar to prepare the slaw.
- Toast the slider buns lightly if desired.
- Fill each bun with a portion of BBQ pulled pork and top with coleslaw.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- You can prepare the pulled pork a day ahead and reheat before serving.
- Add sliced pickles for extra tang and crunch.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, mix hot sauce into the barbecue sauce.
- The pork can also be cooked in an Instant Pot for about 60 minutes.
- Leftover pulled pork can be used for tacos, sandwiches, or baked potatoes.
