Description

Vanilla Bean Brown Butter Cheesecake is a luxurious baked dessert featuring nutty brown butter notes blended into a rich vanilla bean cheesecake filling over a buttery crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for browning)
  • 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 165°C (325°F) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Cool slightly.
  3. Mix graham cracker crumbs with half of the browned butter and press into pan. Bake 8–10 minutes and cool.
  4. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing gently.
  6. Blend in sour cream, vanilla bean seeds, vanilla extract, salt, and remaining browned butter.
  7. Pour filling over crust.
  8. Bake 55–65 minutes until center is slightly set.
  9. Turn off oven and cool inside with door slightly open.
  10. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Use a water bath to prevent cracks.
  • Allow butter to cool before adding to filling.
  • Chill thoroughly for best texture.
