Tater Tot Sloppy Joe Skillet is a quick and hearty one-pan meal featuring seasoned sloppy joe ground beef topped with crispy tater tots and melted cheese for an easy family favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  6. Stir in sloppy joe sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  7. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the skillet.
  8. Arrange frozen tater tots evenly over the top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  10. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the tots.
  11. Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted.
  12. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
