Description
Swiss mushroom melt is a savory sandwich made with a juicy beef patty topped with sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss cheese, and served on toasted bread for a classic comfort meal.
Ingredients
- 4 beef burger patties
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 sandwich rolls or burger buns
- 1 tbsp butter, for toasting buns
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced mushrooms and onions, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat remaining oil and cook beef patties for 3–4 minutes per side until cooked through.
- Season patties with garlic powder.
- Top each patty with sautéed mushrooms and a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes until cheese melts.
- Butter the sandwich rolls and toast until golden.
- Assemble sandwiches by placing patties onto toasted rolls and serve hot.
Notes
- Use halal-certified beef if required.
- Add Dijon mustard or garlic mayo for extra flavor.
- Serve with fries or a side salad.
