Description

Swiss mushroom melt is a savory sandwich made with a juicy beef patty topped with sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss cheese, and served on toasted bread for a classic comfort meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 beef burger patties
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 250 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 sandwich rolls or burger buns
  • 1 tbsp butter, for toasting buns


Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and onions, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, heat remaining oil and cook beef patties for 3–4 minutes per side until cooked through.
  4. Season patties with garlic powder.
  5. Top each patty with sautéed mushrooms and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes until cheese melts.
  7. Butter the sandwich rolls and toast until golden.
  8. Assemble sandwiches by placing patties onto toasted rolls and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use halal-certified beef if required.
  • Add Dijon mustard or garlic mayo for extra flavor.
