Description
A rich and moist strawberry chocolate cake layered with fresh strawberries and chocolate flavor, perfect for celebrations or a decadent dessert treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup strawberry puree
- 1 cup chocolate ganache or chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Gradually stir in hot water until batter is well combined.
- Fold in chopped strawberries gently.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool completely before removing from pan.
- Spread strawberry puree over the cake layer, then frost with chocolate ganache.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired and serve.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for best flavor.
- You can make this as a layered cake by doubling the recipe.
- Refrigerate leftovers due to fresh fruit.
