Description

A rich and moist strawberry chocolate cake layered with fresh strawberries and chocolate flavor, perfect for celebrations or a decadent dessert treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache or chocolate frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in hot water until batter is well combined.
  5. Fold in chopped strawberries gently.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cake to cool completely before removing from pan.
  8. Spread strawberry puree over the cake layer, then frost with chocolate ganache.
  9. Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired and serve.
