Description

A hearty surf-and-turf dish featuring juicy pan-seared steak paired with tender shrimp in a rich, creamy garlic sauce, perfect for an indulgent dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 8 oz each)
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season steaks generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steaks for 3–5 minutes per side until desired doneness; remove and rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and 1 tbsp butter; sauté shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink, then remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining butter and garlic to the skillet; sauté until fragrant.
  5. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up browned bits.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese; simmer until sauce thickens.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and coat with sauce.
  8. Serve steak topped with creamy shrimp sauce and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Let steaks rest before serving to retain juices.
  • Do not overcook shrimp; they cook very quickly.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
