Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
- Pour the slurry into the sauce and stir until thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss until fully coated and sticky.
- Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing sriracha.
- Chicken thighs provide extra juiciness but breasts work well too.
- Serve with steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles.
- Sauce will thicken more as it cools.
