Description
Spicy Garlic Lemon Tofu Bites are crispy baked tofu cubes tossed in a bold sauce made with fresh garlic, zesty lemon, and chili heat, perfect as a plant-based appetizer or protein-packed meal addition.
Ingredients
- 14 oz extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes or chili paste
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with olive oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Spread tofu in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Meanwhile, in a small pan, sauté garlic in a little olive oil over low heat until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, chili flakes, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
- Remove tofu from oven and toss immediately with the garlic lemon sauce.
- Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
- Garnish and serve hot.
Notes
- Press tofu well to achieve maximum crispiness.
- Can be pan-fried or air-fried instead of baked.
