Description

Spicy Garlic Lemon Tofu Bites are crispy baked tofu cubes tossed in a bold sauce made with fresh garlic, zesty lemon, and chili heat, perfect as a plant-based appetizer or protein-packed meal addition.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes or chili paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with olive oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Spread tofu in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small pan, sauté garlic in a little olive oil over low heat until fragrant.
  6. Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, chili flakes, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  7. Remove tofu from oven and toss immediately with the garlic lemon sauce.
  8. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
  9. Garnish and serve hot.
