Description
Snickerdoodle Cobbler is a warm and gooey dessert with a soft cinnamon-sugar crust and a rich caramel-like sauce that forms underneath as it bakes.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Pour melted butter into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
- Pour batter evenly over melted butter (do not stir).
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over batter.
- Carefully pour hot water over the top (do not stir).
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm.
Notes
- Do not stir layers after adding water.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- Best enjoyed warm.
