Description

Smash Burger Fries are crispy golden fries loaded with seasoned smashed ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and classic burger toppings. This indulgent comfort dish combines all the flavors of a smash burger in fun, shareable form.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 bag (about 24 oz) frozen French fries
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven according to French fries package instructions and bake fries until crispy and golden.
  2. While fries bake, heat a skillet over high heat.
  3. Add ground beef in small portions and press firmly with a spatula to create thin smashed pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Cook until deeply browned and crispy on edges, about 3–4 minutes. Flip and cook 1–2 minutes more.
  5. Once fries are done, transfer to an oven-safe dish or keep on baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle cooked beef evenly over fries.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and return to oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese melts.
  8. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
  9. Finish with diced pickles, red onion, and smoked paprika if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
  • Add crispy bacon for extra flavor.
  • Serve immediately to maintain crispiness.
  • Can substitute ground turkey if preferred.
