Description
Shrimp Boil is a classic one-pot seafood dish featuring shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage boiled together with bold seasonings for a flavorful, communal-style meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs large shrimp, shell-on and deveined
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 1/2 lbs baby potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into halves
- 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 lemons, halved
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Water, as needed
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add salt, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne (if using), lemons, and garlic.
- Add potatoes to the boiling water and cook for 10–12 minutes until nearly tender.
- Add sliced sausage and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add corn and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes, just until pink and opaque.
- Turn off heat, add butter, and let everything soak for 2 minutes.
- Drain and serve hot on a large platter or covered table.
Notes
- Do not overcook the shrimp to avoid toughness.
- Adjust spice level to taste.
- Serve with melted butter or garlic butter on the side.
