Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup seafood or chicken broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Pour in white wine and simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add broth and heavy cream, bringing to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add mussels, cover, and cook for 5–7 minutes until they open. Discard any that remain closed.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and stir in lemon juice.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
