Description
A quick and colorful shrimp and bell pepper stir-fry featuring tender shrimp tossed with crisp bell peppers in a savory garlic soy sauce, perfect for a fast and healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 500 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return shrimp to the pan.
- Pour in the sauce mixture and toss everything together.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the shrimp and vegetables.
- Season with black pepper and chili flakes if using.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- You can add snap peas or broccoli for variety.
- Use high heat for best stir-fry flavor.
