Description
Mozzarella cheese steak stromboli is a golden-baked rolled pizza filled with tender steak, melted mozzarella cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions, perfect for dinner or game day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 1/2 lb thinly sliced beef steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened.
- Add sliced steak, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until just done.
- Roll pizza dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread steak mixture evenly over dough, leaving a border.
- Top evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Roll dough tightly lengthwise and seal edges.
- Place stromboli seam-side down on baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if using.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 5 minutes, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overfill to prevent leaking.
- Let rest before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
