Description

Mozzarella cheese steak stromboli is a golden-baked rolled pizza filled with tender steak, melted mozzarella cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions, perfect for dinner or game day.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1/2 lb thinly sliced beef steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened.
  4. Add sliced steak, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until just done.
  5. Roll pizza dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread steak mixture evenly over dough, leaving a border.
  7. Top evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Roll dough tightly lengthwise and seal edges.
  9. Place stromboli seam-side down on baking sheet.
  10. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if using.
  11. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool for 5 minutes, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overfill to prevent leaking.
  • Let rest before slicing for cleaner cuts.
