Description

Homemade bruschetta is a fresh and flavorful Italian appetizer made with juicy tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil served over toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 68 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet and toast for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  3. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar if using and mix gently.
  5. Rub toasted bread lightly with a cut garlic clove if desired.
  6. Spoon tomato mixture onto each toasted slice.
  7. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
