Rich, chocolatey fudgy brownie waffles with a crisp exterior and soft, gooey center. Perfect for dessert or an indulgent brunch treat, served with ice cream, berries, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Nonstick cooking spray for waffle iron

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions and lightly grease with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop batter into preheated waffle iron, spreading slightly.
  7. Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until waffles are set and slightly crisp on the outside.
  8. Carefully remove and let cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve warm with desired toppings.

  • Cooking time may vary depending on waffle iron model.
