Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh basil leaves, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Toss gently and let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Season ricotta with salt and black pepper and stir until smooth.
- Spread a generous layer of ricotta on each crostini.
- Spoon balsamic strawberries over the ricotta.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve immediately.

- Serve crostini shortly after assembling to keep them crisp.
- Whipped ricotta adds extra lightness.
