Crockpot Cheesesteak Potato Casserole is a hearty, comforting slow-cooker dish combining tender potatoes, seasoned beef, peppers, onions, and melted cheese inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak.
Ingredients
- 700 g beef sirloin or ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Cooking spray for crockpot
Instructions
- Lightly grease the crockpot with cooking spray.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add beef and cook until browned; season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add garlic and Worcestershire sauce; stir and remove from heat.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the crockpot.
- Top with half of the beef, peppers, onions, and cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
- Pour beef broth evenly over the casserole.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until potatoes are tender.
- Serve hot once cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Notes
- Slice potatoes thinly for even cooking.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken if preferred.
- Let casserole rest 10 minutes before serving for better slicing.
