Description

Chocolate pecan pie is a classic Southern dessert featuring a buttery crust filled with a rich, gooey chocolate-infused custard and crunchy toasted pecans.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 200 g pecan halves
  • 120 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 200 g light brown sugar
  • 120 ml corn syrup
  • 60 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Spread pecans evenly in the pie crust and sprinkle chocolate chips over them.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Carefully pour the filling mixture over the pecans and chocolate.
  5. Bake for 50–55 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggles.
  6. If the crust browns too quickly, cover edges with foil.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool fully to allow proper setting.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
  • Store covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer storage.
