Chocolate pecan pie is a classic Southern dessert featuring a buttery crust filled with a rich, gooey chocolate-infused custard and crunchy toasted pecans.
Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 200 g pecan halves
- 120 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3 large eggs
- 200 g light brown sugar
- 120 ml corn syrup
- 60 g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Spread pecans evenly in the pie crust and sprinkle chocolate chips over them.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Carefully pour the filling mixture over the pecans and chocolate.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggles.
- If the crust browns too quickly, cover edges with foil.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Let the pie cool fully to allow proper setting.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- Store covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer storage.
