Description
Cherry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy yeast rolls swirled with cinnamon sugar and sweet cherry filling, then topped with a creamy glaze for a fruity twist on a classic treat.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Roll dough into a large rectangle.
- Spread brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over dough.
- Spoon cherry pie filling over the surface.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
- Place in a greased baking dish and let rise 30 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- Use fresh cherries for a homemade filling option.
- Do not overfill to prevent leakage.
