Description

Cherry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy yeast rolls swirled with cinnamon sugar and sweet cherry filling, then topped with a creamy glaze for a fruity twist on a classic treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Roll dough into a large rectangle.
  6. Spread brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over dough.
  7. Spoon cherry pie filling over the surface.
  8. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
  9. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Use fresh cherries for a homemade filling option.
  • Do not overfill to prevent leakage.
