Description
A creamy and flavorful pasta dish made with smoky Cajun-spiced sausage, tender pasta, and a rich, mildly spicy sauce—perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 400 g pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 300 g Cajun sausage, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced Cajun sausage and cook until browned; remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then add Parmesan cheese and stir until smooth.
- Return sausage to the skillet and add cooked pasta.
- Toss well to coat everything in the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use chicken or turkey sausage for a lighter option.
- Add chili flakes for extra heat.
- A splash of pasta water can help loosen the sauce if needed.
