Description

A creamy and flavorful pasta dish made with smoky Cajun-spiced sausage, tender pasta, and a rich, mildly spicy sauce—perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 400 g pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 300 g Cajun sausage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sliced Cajun sausage and cook until browned; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.
  5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then add Parmesan cheese and stir until smooth.
  8. Return sausage to the skillet and add cooked pasta.
  9. Toss well to coat everything in the sauce.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

  • Use chicken or turkey sausage for a lighter option.
  • Add chili flakes for extra heat.
  • A splash of pasta water can help loosen the sauce if needed.
