Description
Bacon and sausage-stuffed potato loaf is a hearty baked dish made with seasoned mashed potatoes filled with savory sausage, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, baked until golden and comforting.
Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 200 g breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 150 g bacon, cooked and chopped
- 120 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 60 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 60 ml milk
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a loaf pan.
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and mash.
- Add butter and milk to the potatoes and mash until smooth.
- Stir in eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese.
- Spread half of the mashed potatoes into the prepared loaf pan.
- Layer sausage, bacon, and shredded cheese evenly over the potatoes.
- Top with remaining mashed potatoes and smooth the surface.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and lightly golden on top.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use halal bacon and sausage if required.
- Let the loaf cool slightly to help it hold its shape.
- Add green onions for extra flavor.
