Description

Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan is a lighter take on the classic Italian-American dish, featuring crispy breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, all cooked to perfection in the air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking spray
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets.
  3. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano in the third.
  5. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Lightly spray chicken with cooking spray.
  7. Place in air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8–10 minutes.
  8. Flip chicken, spoon marinara sauce on top, and sprinkle with mozzarella.
  9. Cook another 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and chicken is cooked through.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Serve with pasta or a side salad.
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
